New-Look Wii Unveiled, Arriving In The UK For Christmas

A new redesigned Wii console has been unveiled, that will be shipping to UK stores in the next couple of months in preparation for the upcoming holiday season, according to the The Official Nintendo Magazine website.

As you can see from the new packaging photo below the new Wii has been designed to lay flat on a surface rather than stand upright. The new design may be in preparation for the release of new Wii U console which also sits flat on surfaces. Bringing the two consoles designs inline with each other.

The new Wii will be arriving in the UK in time for the holiday season, but no information has been released on worldwide availability as yet. Or whether the new design will be a different price to the existing upright model currently in stores.

The packaging reveals the new design Wii system will come with Wii Remote Plus, a Nunchuk and, copies of Wii Sports and Wii Party. As always when more information come to light we will keep you updated.

Acer Iconia Smart Arriving In September

Acer first introduced their new Acer Iconia Smart smartphone back in the middle of February of this year. But until now very little has been announced about its arrival date. But thanks to post published to the Acer Germany Facebook page it now looks like the Acer Iconia Smart will be arriving next month for around $730.

The Acer Iconia Smart is equipped with a massive 4.8 inch display sporting a 1024 x 480 pixel resolution and  a 21:9 widescreen ratio. Powered by a 1GHz Scorpion processor, Qualcomm MSM8255-1 Snapdragon supported by 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and 8 GB of storage.

Its also fitted with an 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash camera complete with Geo-tagging, face and smile detection, image stabilisation and video capable of  recording 720p @ 30fps. On a full charge the Acer Iconia Smart is expected to provide around 11 h on 2G with up to 8h while on 3G.

Apple Installing LTE Equipment, Possible 4G iPhone Arriving Soon?

Its seems that a major Apple store has received some LTE equipment installed by AT&T engineers, according to a source that has leaked the information to the Engadget website.

The new equipment installed in the Apple store supports the 700 megahertz band of spectrum, the same band that AT&T plans to use to roll its LTE network out, together with AWS bands, which are used by T-Mobile. Does this LTE installation mean a new 4G iPhone is ready for immanent launch?

Engadget was also tipped that the store in question is also now looking to increase its staff by 30%, and not related to the hiring of extra holiday staff.

Going on past experience when similar Verizon installations and towers were installed on the Apple campus, shortly afterwards the Verizon iPhone was rolled out. Does all this mean we can expect to see a new 4G iPhone soon? Maybe, or Apple is just preparing for the future and trialling the AT&T equipment. What are your thoughts?
